I'm giving birth in a birth center/hospital setting. We can wear our own clothing (Yay! ) And I was just curious what others are planning on wearing for labor?

I am planning on skin to skin contact when baby is born, but for modesty's sake, I think I'll get one of those maternity camisoles with the shelf bra. That way I can just pull it down to breastfeed after I deliver. I wear one occasionally now, and they are very comfy. For bottoms, I'll probably have pajama pants and I'll sure have my fluffy robe for warmth and excursions down the halls of the center.

With DD1 I had to wear a bum exposing hospital gown. Not entirely comfy, nor modest, nor very pretty.

What is everyone planning on wearing?

I am having a home birth, so I am planning on wearing my birthday suit!! I may get a gown of some sort, but I kinda get the feeling I will end up naked.

I'm not planning on wearing anything. I think, tbh, that any kind of clothing during labour will seriously piss me off and be unbelievable uncomfortable and restricting.....

My mum (who has had 4 and is working on #5 now) has advised me to take her word that I won't want anything on during the later stages of labour.... I'm not really having a hard time believing it as I've not much liked being clothed for the past few weeks of pregnancy! lol

I absolutely hate (and dread of) the idea that I would be naked during delivery.
I bought a wonderbra sleeping gown (really cute yellow-green with tiny flowers). Since I plan on walking as much as possible before birth it will be perfect. And it was dead cheap (5 bucks down from 25).

Having a homebirth and as this is my first I don't know how I'll feel during the last stages of labour but for the parts that I'll be able move around I'm going to wear my tie-dye kanga round my hips and an old strappy top that will leave my belly exposed. At this point being nekkid in front of strangers (midwives) kind of freaks me out but I'm sure that'll be the last thing on my mind when the time comes!

I'm trying to find something now. I want a gown so I don't have to worry about taking anything off for exams, but I have a feeling I will DEFINITELY be naked in the later part. I hate clothing!

I think I'll have a nightie that is really comfy on. I hate hospital gowns, as I feel so exposed and uncomfortable. I also have hated wearing clothes since being pregnant, but I can definitely NOT see myself being nude for delivery. I'll ask to make sure I can wear what I would like where I'm delivering. I have a black somewhat short nightie, that is loose fitting and comfortable on my bump. Good topic to bring up, I didn't even give it much thought!

I have not a darn clue... I do know after I deliver I want to wear a nursing tank, sweats and my robe.

I cant get naked infront of docters and midwifes although last time i had to keep getting into the shower so had everyone around me while i was trying not to scream in pain from standing! Its true that you dont care after ahwile i just stripped off and did my stuff haha.

But ive got a nighty that i will be wearing, bearing in mind i may be having a c-section so ill have to be wearing something :P
