I'm Currently Feeling: | Internals done in later pregnancy here don't use the speculums if they're checking for dilation/strep b test. They just slide the swabs a little into each area, for the strep b test and thats about it. To check for dilation though they will insert 2 fingers to check your cervix for progress. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Not really sure. I think it depends on your body, some girls can go to 40 weeks with no progress in that department. Others have showed dilation/effacement way earlier. I guess it could be like the leaking boobs thing, some girls get it and others don't it all depends on your body. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | When I had my strep b test they didn't do an anal. They didn't use anything except a long q-tip, and my doc just swabbed the inside of my va-j-j.
The internals are just a quick exam where the doctor uses his/her fingers to feel your cervix and see if you are effacing/dilating. It doesn't really hurt, but there was some pressure during each of mine (so far) because my cervix was still high. |
