Was this a panic attack? Sorry v.long

Looking for some advice please. Sorry v.long

I am 36 weeks and i have been out to the supermarket, while i was walking around I started to get shaky and started to breathe funny. I thought maybe that my blood sugar had dropped so I went into my bag to get my emergancy sweeties out to eat and tried to carry on but i started to sweat, feel sicky and scared that i was there on my own. I then noticed that the security guard was following me as I must have looked funny hunched over a trolley and that then made me panic and had tears streaming down my face. I could not take it any longer and just went and paid and jumped in a taxi home. In the taxi I started to calm slightly but it was not till I was safe in the house that I have been feeling better.

I just don't know what happened as i am usually so independant.

Any ideas?

sounds horrible, sending you hugs. That does sound like a panic attack. Do you know what might have triggered it? If it happens again deep breathing and positive thinking helps me. Also maybe a trip to doc just to get it checked.

yeah sounds like a panic attack for sure... but you might want to check with your MW anyway.

I've had that several times... mostly recently in the waiting room at the vet's.

Regardless of what we call it, given that we're going through so much, physically, hormonally, emotionally... it's really no wonder it sometimes gets overwhelming.

Maybe it's a sign you need to take things a bit easier...?

PS That wasn't a long post!

Sounds like a panic attack. I used to get them pretty bad. You probably need to slow down a bit and try and get some more rest.

I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago, nearly collapsed in a friends office! I went from chatting to him to suddenly unable to breathe and dizzy - he ended up taking me up to the maternity unit (which is next to where I work, closer than a dr's ) for me to be monitored for the afternoon!

They weren't sure what caused it but it was definitely low blood pressure, low blood sugar and it happened just as my friend started talking about an issue at work that was bothering me ( I hate my boss as he is a useless idiot overworking me!) I couldn't talk about it and instead went dizzy.

I've been told to take it easy, like really easy - and to relax more and worry less. Our bodies are all over the place with being pregnant and simple things can now be very complex, chill and sit /lie down if it happens again.
