Baby has caught up with my weeks!!!! This is very reassuring because for the last few months it's been measuring small for dates and the midwife would have sent me to see a consultant if baby hadn't grown by today. My fundal height is now measuring 33, which is about right because I'm 33 + 2 weeks today But the midwife said that the fundal height doesn't always reflect how big the baby is and that baby still feels small?! I'm begining to think that woman just likes worrying me!!

Also in news today, baby has dropped and is head-down and engaged!!!! I thought she had dropped because I suddenly have a lot of uncomfortable grinding going on down there, and feel like I'm walking (well, waddling) with a bowling ball between my legs!! lol Ummmmm.... Don't wanna sound stupid, but what exactly is it that baby is engaged? What does that mean?

I had my bloods taken again as well, because my iron level was 9 last time (that's really low) and if it hasn't gone up I'll have to book into a hospital out of town in case of complications in birth - Wish me luck!

Also, do the antenatal appointments stay the same in the last few weeks? (checking blood pressure, measuring baby, listening to the heartbeat etc) or do they start doing internal exams rutinely as well? When do they do the first internal?? How will I know if I'm dilated?! (Sorry if I sound a bit dippy! Never done this before! lol)

Glad to hear your measurements are all caught up and engagement means that the babies head is down and into your pelvis and ready for when you go into labor. Some babies can engage weeks before or some don't until you're actually in labor.

As for internals they're usually done at the 36 week mark, I got mine done early because I told her about what I had this weekend and because of going early with Drake, glad she did! So maybe at your next appointment or the one after you might get one done. I'm not sure if they're routine though but I think MarchBaby has had 2 already so it might be, depending on where you are. The appointments should be all the same minus the internals, oh and at your first internal they'll do your strep B test.
