Birth control after giving birth and whilst breastfeeding

It's probably too premature to even be thinking of this but does anyone know what birth control methods are considered safe during breastfeeding. I think to have another little bubs 10 months after this one would really be pushing it.

You are right, and breastfeeding is by no means a done deal as far as birth control.
Condoms, of course, IUD, sponge, diaphragm, just to name a few.
Take a look at my tickers, it can happen fast if we aren't careful.

Can you take the mini pill? I went back on the pill 8 weeks after having my son, but then i wasn't breast feeding by then.

the mini pill is safe to take whilst BF. the only thing you can't have is the combined pill, (microgynon, cilest, ovranette, yasmin etc). as they contain oestrogen which can get into breast milk and go to the baby.
A warning you ovulate before your first period so can get caught out!

I'm not too fond of the barrier type contraceptives. I was on the normal pill I think it was yasmin but will ask about the mini pill. What about he injection type pill? Is that deemed as safe?

Have you thought about the UTI aka the coil?
Talk to your doctor, they can tell you whats best for you. And condoms don't always work. Trust me, I know.

I'm planning another one after this one and am planning breast feeding. I am seriously thinking about the Rhythm Method, mainly cm watching (+ condoms if applicable). My reasons:
--I don't really want to introduce any type of hormonal method
--barrier method's all the time would annoy me
--I think it will aid conceiving the next one if i am already watching my cycle
--If I get pregnant earlier than I'm aiming for it's not a bit deal to me.

The only concern I have is watching that first cycle after the birth.

I wont be using any kind of hormonal contraception, but only because up until 2 years ago I'd been on the pill for about 17 years so I'm done with the pill now!
I had the Mirena coil for about 6 months but didnt get on with it so had that removed. We were then using the rythm method and within 5 months, I fell pregnant So we DEFINATELY wont be using that way again

This is our last baby so OH will be getting his tubes tied
