Just back from the doctors...

Okay. I am back from my doctors appointment.

So... Yes, I have Pre-Eclampsia. I am on bed rest, my cervix is soft but still closed and it looks like I am going to be induced by my doctor at 36 weeks. OMG! I will have a baby in about 9-10 days (assuming nothing drastic happens and I have to be induced sooner her in Anchorage.) My November baby is going to become an OCTOBER BABY! That's crazy!

I have to have more blood work done on early Thursday morning and then after that, have a NST (Non-Stress Test) @ 8am on Thursday. Because it is so early in the morning, Jack and I are going to spend the night at my Moms house on Wednesday night since she lives closer to the hospital. Hopefully I can actually sleep. I never sleep well at her house.

So, all is well for now. Doc was not thrilled with the swelling in my hands and my reflexes (among other things) but thinks with proper monitoring, we should be able to hold out until 36 weeks.

I am comfortable with waiting until 36 weeks and think that is a good goal. With how rough I have been feeling, I agree that going any longer could be dangerous. The nurse, Susan, told me to have a talk with my cervix so it will open up easily. I guess I will haave to try it now, huh? At least it is already soft, right?

So, there is my update and the news that our little man will be here early.

Now I wish I bought more newborn clothes!

Poor you!! I'm glad they are taking good care of you though. 36 weeks is a great goal.

Good luck with the induction

Not long until you hold LO in your arms - very exciting! Look after yourself and make sure you stick to that bed rest!

Hi GG, haven't chatted with you in while. I'm glad your doing well except with this bump in the road. Can't believe just earlier in the year we were both in the LTTTC section! And here you are, about to be a mommy in a few short days!

Wow I bet its a shock having baby early. I had convinced myself that my LO would be late....but now I'm being tested for Pre-Eclampsia so I'm trying to get my head around the fact that LO might be here sooner rather than later - eeeeeeeeek

Can I ask what your symptoms have been? You said you'd been feeling rough, how exactly? I did try to search for threads started by you to have a nosy but there is a server problem xx

Lets see... my symptoms were pain under my rib cage/below my right breast, headaches, severe swelling, elevated BP, Protein in my urine, feeling anxious/jittery (I worried my sister today when we were talking on the phone because I was so jittery and has trouble concentrating), seeing visual disturbances and I ALWAYS feel like I am out of breath and dizzy if I walk further than across the room. Honestly... it sucks...

In the beginning though, it was some lightheadedness and the chest pains that bugged me until my resting BP began to skyrocket and proteins were found.

Good luck! I really hope you get the all clear!
