Breatsfeeding and colostrum question

Im not leaking colostrum, sometimes I will press my nipple and only the tip will get a little wet and some days there is nothing that comes out... will I have enough colostrum when baby is born? I really want to breastfeed!

What is happening now to your boobs hun doesn't mean anything at the moment, Some produce colostrum now some dont. It isn't a sign that you can/cant feed baby when he/she is born.

As to whether or not you can bf only time will tell, For most yes you should be able to but there are obviously some people who can't for several different reasons but 1 including not producing enough. You wont really know til you try which unfortunately doesn't exactly help you now.

I bf my 1st & never leaked anything during pregnancy , but i bf perfectly fine.

I again this time haven't leaked & i plan to breastfeed again, I know it may not happen so i'm not going in with the " i must bf or i've failed " attitude, I'll try if it works then great if not then ok ff it is. Trying is all we can do hun.

there's no reason to say if you dont leak you wont get milk! your boobies will make it when they need to!

i've been making colostrum for a few weeks now, i'm not leaking but do get a few little baubles of liquid when i gently squeeze my nipple, so days i don't get anything at all, but i still have a go!

I guess i'm checking that my body is ready for the arrival.

Colostrum is all your baby needs for the first few days anyway, so i wouldn't be too concerned at this point as the babies stomach is really tiny and will only require small quanitites.
Your first 'proper' milk will normally be ready 2 days after birth and 2 weeks for the mature milk to come through.
I have a good friend who is a breastfeeding advisor and i've quizzed her loads on this, but at the end of the day we're all individuals, our bodies will provide as long as we persevere and stimulate the supply our babies will be fine.
