pre eclamsia, high blood pressure advice needed

Hi , went to the day unit earlier with high blood pressure 160/100 and all the stuff in my urine. spent a while there and had bloods taken which came back normal so as blood pressure had gone down to 140/90 they let me come home. I just checked it on one of those wrist monitors (not amazingly acurate i know but i tested it a few times) and its now back up around 155/95 to 160/100.
Is this a problem and should i call maternity ward, i really dont want to spend the night in hospital just to be monitored as this is just gona make it go up but obviousally dont want to risk mine or babies health. any sugestions?? Its never been this high at home before.

If the bottom figure is 100 or above I suggest you go straight in to hopsital, I had the same at 30 weeks last pregnancy and was always told if it was 100 to get myself there pronto. Last thing you want is it getting higher at home, you need to be at the hopsital my love

xx

Hi SoooTired I would get checked out just to be on the safe side, I know it's a pain to be monitored at night but would be good to put your mind at rest, if your anything like me I wouldn't sleep anyway with worry!

Definetely phone your Midwife and see what she suggests.

Take care Hun, let us know how you get on.

If you have concerned about your BP don't fool around with it. You could go into a seizure or stroke and really harm yourself and baby.

I've got a similar problem. My BP is up and down more times than a yo yo!!
I was monitored yesterday and they wanted to start me on beta-blockers last night and keep me in for the night.
There was no way on this earth was I staying there overnight so came home and went back this morning.
Been given the drugs so hopefully they will stabilise my BP.

I asked if being on them made any difference to how the birth would be treated and was told no - so that made my day!

Try not to monitor yourself on the wrist monitor, it's often very inaccurate and will cause you more concern. Just let them monitor you as often as they say is necessary and I'm sure they'll be one the ball with it. x
