Anyone delivering privately?

Hi ladies

I have just joined th 1st tri board and wondered if anyone could help me.

I gave birth to my daughter in April but sadly, she passed away. I am pregnant again and want to take extra precautions. I have decided to have a private delivery in London (Chlesea and Westminster) and wondered if anyone knows whether you can have ante-natal care on the NHS but a private delivery?

Would appreciate any advice.
xx

Im sorry for your loss and understand your reasons for going private. Im not sure what the policy is in your area but it would be useful to call a private hospital or midwife and find out. If you employed a private midwife (independant) you would receive continuity of care, which would probably be very beneficial and reassuring to you.

Sorry I cant be of anymore help.

xxxx

I'm so, so sorry about your daughter. It must be such an emotional time for you now, being pregnant again so soon.

I'm having a private delivery, but with a MW who only does home births, and a long way from London. From what I've heard, though, London has many more options than elsewhere in the country... I hope that someone nearer to you can advise. Having private antenatal care is lovely... there's just so much more time to talk...

Good luck, and let us know how you get on...

Thank you grace. It hasn't quite hit me yet that I am pregnant again. There have been many tears as I know if my daughter was here that there is a godo chance I wouldn't be pregnant again. I need this to heal though. I wish you lots of luck with your birth. xxx

You cud just register with your nhs midwife for care then nearer the time go private. you are entitled to change any care provider whenever you feel like it.
