I've had this problem for a week now + severely congested nose. I really need to get some sleep now, so I'm seeing my GP later this evening trying to get some remedy I can take. I've eaten all the honey in the house - no improvement. I also tried gargling salty hot water (puke) and tying cold wet cloth around my throat.

You're allowed to take Simple Linctus but unless the cough is just a tickle at the back of your throat it's pretty useless to be honest.

I had a cough for 5 weeks over the summer it was a nightmare.

Hi, i had a stupid cough all night for a couple of weeks, my m/w said that honey and lemon in hot water was the cheapest answer, but it doesnt work great. I know you said natural remedies but they told me it was ok to take cough medicine so i used veno's tickly cough stuff and it was a great help :-)

I always have boiled milk (you can boil it in a microwave - take it out just before it boils) and then add a bit of butter, and stir and drink it with a spoon. Do it as many times as you need, it heals the throat in a day, and softens the cough as well. Worth a try. xxx
