braxton hicks...worried

Hi all,

I keep getting BH I am 28 weeks pregnant, but these seem to be coming more often than I thought they would. I tighten up quite a lot. Is this normal or should I phone my MW? Im worried- please advise...

I have been getting them 3-4x an hour for a while now and I'm only 29w. I also am not sure how often you should be getting them. I know that they can come more often if you are dehydrated and I have been trying to drink more but I haven't noticed a difference. I usually get them whenever I stand up/change positions as well.
xx

I was in hospital with very strong BH a few days ago. Basically they said if
1) they do not wear off if you move around call
2) they are painful and last around 1 minute
3) they are regular or getting closer together over the period of a couple of hours
then call your midwife for advise.
To check on them, get up and walk around. Drink some water. Have a shower or bath. Generally those things will cause BH to ease off or stop.

I had loads yesterday and a lot this afternoon / early evening. If I have a couple of busy days it seems to bring them on, then when I am resting (like this evening) they go away. Mine don't hurt, it just feels like a real tighnessand walking around seems to ease them, but I find once I get one more will follow for a while. I mentioned them to my midwife and she seemed not at all bothered by it.
