Hun, can I ask why you're being induced early? You can refuse a sweep if you want to, in fact you can refuse any kind of induction (I did and went 14 days over lol). The fact is that if your body is not ready to give birth, any kind of induction will fail, this is why many inductions end in a c-section.

I had 4 sweeps, all of them hurt (only a little mind) and none of them worked lol!!

The last one I had at my +10 the midwife said 'I'm famous for my sweep's, you'll be back here tomorrow....I promoise!'

Nothing happened!

When I went in to be induced they checked my notes and they said because I was dialated 2cm ish they could just break my waters, so they done that!

Had waters broken, dripped up & everything started happening almost imediately!

There was another girl who was induced the same day as me and she had the gel! The day I had Noah she was still in assesment.....eeek!!

Although a friend of mine had the gel and she was super speedy!

xx

I have a severe form of SPD and due to the amount of pain I am in, im favourable for an induction, I currently can't get around without help and have to rely on a wheelchair just to get from one place to another

Same here Jenny, I don't want a c-section myself, but I can't deal with the pain i'm in, I hate the fact that I have to rely on people to help me do simple tasks that I should be able to do myself

cant imagine how down it must be getin you. Surely if you tell them about the severe pain after the sweep they might just go ahead with the gel? might seem really difficult to think about it like this just now but it will all definately be worth it when your holding your LO in your arms x
