None Caring Hospital?

sorry I dont know the right words, to explain a none caring hospital

I posted about me having polydromnisis (sp) and that I had been referred back to the consultant.

well I went today, only to find consultant was on a training morning, and I had to see his registra,

now I already dont like this woman as she mis diagnosed something in my last pregnancy and my consultant blew his top then.

anyhow saw her, told her about the fluids, she wasnt interested in the slightest didnt write anything down about it and basically didnt care, just kept on about me seeing an anesthetic guy (saw him last time) didnt care I was worried, and said oh we may scan you at 36 weeks (Im 32 weeks now so in 4 weeks time).
I am already measuring 38 week! so 6 weeks in front. by 36 weeks i could be up to 45 weeks,
my stomach feels like its going to explode

I left the room in tears (my dh had waited outside due to parking problems) I couldnt even tell him what had gone on to start with

from readin up on things on the net, if i leave this to 36 weeks without someone lookingat it or treating it my baby could be in serious trouble!

I got home calmed down and called the consultants secratary, who assures me he will look at my notes today

Im just at a loss as to what to do

the scanning guy said the hospital he works at would be scanning me every 2 weeks if I was going there

I dont want anyhing to happen to this much wanted little boy, and I feel Im letting him down

Im sorry for going on I just dont know what to do

Anna

Hi im not sure what that condition is, I know im measuring big 37 weeks at 34 but as its within the percentiles I will be rescanned in 4 weeks at 38 weeks.

I'd request another appointment before then if you are worried so you can see the consultant.

awwww you aren't letting your little boy down. You are doing everything that you can. You were right to phone your consultant, if you dont hear back from him tomorrow morning you can phone him back again. Be persistent, it is the only way to get someone to listen to you.

I know what you mean about them not caring. I'm in a lot of pain from SPD and my MW basically ignored everything I said, was rude to me and left me in tears leaving the appointment. I'm on a mission to get someone to listen to me now and tomorrow my physio is going to put a note in my notes to say that I am in pain, i'm going to GP on thurs to ask her to write me a letter to say that she is prescribing me strong painkillers for this, I'm writing a letter to explain the misery that I am in and then next fri I'm seeing the consultant and taking all of this with me. Is this something which you can try?

Anna, that's awful. The so-called caring profession really isn't caring for the most part, is it?

I do feel for you. It is NOT your fault though, however these people might make you feel. Keep chipping away at the consultant's secretary until you get a result. It is never too late to change hospitals if you're not happy with the care you're receiving. I'd be tempted to write a letter of complaint and direct it to the maternity section, chief of hospital, your MP and your doctor.

I expect you've read this already http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnanc...olyhydramnios/
(is this the condition you're referring to?) but if you havent read it - its always good to get as much info under your belt for using to fight your battle.

If this is the condition (I'm a bit dappy with babybrain at the mo!) I saw a documentary where they put a needle in (bit like the amniocentisis process) and syphoned (sp?) off some of the excess fluid. http://www.twin2twin.org/Treatment.htm its included in this article link. This was in the case of twins.

HTH?

x

Lots of hugs
