high blood pressure/pre-eclampsia is what I was thinking. Severe swelling of the hands AND feet, to the point of being uncomfortable or painful, is a definite sign that needs to be investigated.

I hope it's not that, though!
Carpel Tunnel is a pain but I'd take that over pre-eclampsia any day.

I have carpall tunnell syndrome and what your describing in yur hands sounds exactly like mine did, they gave me splints to wear at night which have helped stop the pain waking me but there still swollen and uncomfortable especially later on the day. Best to get yourself checked out though if you have a lot of swelling in your feet to rule out PE

Hiya all, just to update you on this, i went into hopistal they did think it was carpall tunell, they did bloods etc but it wasnt it was just swelling but they kept me in over and i went into labour that eve, if anyone has signs like this call midwife and get it checked just incase xxx
