increasing braxton hicks, labour soon or not?

hi there
i am new to this site and was just looking for some advice, im 38+1 weeks pregnant and was wondering if anybody who had increasing braxton hicks went into labour sooner rather than later? ive not had any regularity to my braxton hicks but i have been getting quite a few over the past couple of days and when i spoke to one of my friends she said she never had any and had to be induced with her baby.

what do you think? thanks for your advice in advance

I had BH from 34 weeks on with my first child. I never went into labor and was induced 1 day prior to EDD.

My Braxton Hicks really increased last Thursday. I thought they would have started dilating me. Saw the doctor Wednesday. I'm 80% effaced and not dilated at all

I've been getting them a lot more too... But aparently it's just normal that they increase as you get further on in the pregnancy.

I've had Braxton hicks from around 26 weeks. I saw my OB last Thursday who said I can expect to get up to, two an hour now. It does not necessarily mean labour is going to happen soon, its just your womb practicing for the real thing. He said you'll feel the difference between BH and true labour, as you're get labour aches around your back also.

I've been having a lot of them since Friday however and I think I may have lost my plug on Saturday. Again, from reading threads on here tho, loosing the plug don't mean labour is impending.
