Question

Dropping already????

So lately I have noticed a small change in my bump. Then, last night, I got this wierd feeling in it, nothing that I have ever felt. It was sort of like a period-type wierd feeling, all over my bump. Its hard to explain, but afterwards, I got up to go to the bathroom, and my bump looked like it had dropped some. Went down the hall to my friends apartment, and she said the same thing (she's got a LO of her own). Isn't it too early for this to be happening? The docs are watching me for preterm labor, so I am a little worried. Plus, I couldn't sleep last night because of discomfort. My lower back was killing me, and everything just didn't feel right.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Luckily I have a docs appointment today, so I will be able to chat with them about it. I just don't want to be concerned over nothing.

Like Jazzy said, I think you should call your doctor and let them know what you've felt. They'll probably tell you what it is. Do get it checked out though, especially if you've been having bad back pain. Even if its nothing its always good to know for sure, even more so if you're being watched for preterm. Hope everything is ok hon

I think its pretty normal, baby can move down early. But obviously with you already being monitered for preterm labour your probably better gettin it checked out

I thought mine had.. (I'm not so sure now); but I was reading on the internet and some women's bumps dropped really early and they still went full term. I think it is possible to drop after 27 weeks. Not exactly sure though. However, as you are being watched for preterm, I would call. "Most" of the time you go into labor four weeks after dropping. But again, just something I read on the internet.

My appointment went well. She told me that there is a possibility that he could start to drop, but not to be too concerned about it. He is already in perfect position for delivery! She wanted to make sure that if I had any signs of labor, to call right away. Other than that, things are good. She says he probably weighs about 3lbs. Pretty crazy!!!!

Thank you ladies for your replies!!!!
