Sounds to me that the strange pain that you were getting could be braxton hicks. Same as contractions but no where near as painfull and not as regular as real contractions, but who knows.... lo could be on the way real soon!

I was eating Burger King when I was in the delivery suite my MW told me to build my energy up whilst I could (they have a Burger King at my Hospital)

That should be standard at all hospitals . They have a great little pizza place at my hospital, I wonder if I could sneak some in when I go into labor

It could have been a braxton hicks contraction. These can be uncomfortable at times but they are irregular and do not change the cervical dilation.
