Question

Scared of C section:(:(:(

Hello Ladies... Due to have C section on 31st of January, The closer the date comes the more nervous and scared i get.. I worry what its going be like having the C section preformed as ive not really been told a great deal about it to be honest I also worry about how long it will be until i get to hold my daughter...... Do any of ladies that have had a C section have some positive comments about C sections to help me please? And also i was told by a friend that not always can u breastfeed straight away as it can take few days for your milk to come ????this worries me as i havent even leaked any colostrum yet... How long is recovery..?? I know all of you that have experienced a C section will have different opinions on what it was like and how your recovery was and i would love to hear your stories... xxxx

I can't give you any advice on C-sections but I found an old thread where you might find some answers.

your c-section experiances

As for the breastfeeding, yes its true that you might not have your milk come in until a couple of days after but you should be producing colostrum before it comes in for the baby.

Well having a c section is a scary thing. But it goes very quick. You will feel pressure in your abdomen when they do it but you shouldn't feel any pain.
Recovery took a bit longer for me because I got an infection but generally they will send you home a few days after and after 4 weeks you will start to feel somewhat normal again. Also The incision will take a long time to heal and it will be swollen for a while just in case you're curious about that too.

When your little one is born they will let u see her right away and you should be able to hold her after you have had some time to recover after the operation. Some moms Ive heard have even been able to hold there baby immidiately after.

Breastmilk will take a couple days to establish but they will have you starting on that right away. Once your little one has had a few goes it should stimulate things. They will have a lactation consultant speak with you and help you learn how to latch properly etc.

Good luck you will do great you must be excited!!!
