I think both are worthwhile, but its probably just what your comfortable with! The main reason we're getting a moses basket is because I know Im going to be paranoid (as its my first) and I want junior to be where I am.
xxx | I couldn't have said it better myself |

I'm Currently Feeling: | We bought both.
I bought one of those cradle bassinets that turn into a rocker and bedside sleeper. I love the bedside sleeper idea as we want to keep her close for the first few months.
Overall, I think investing in both would be a great idea. If you find you're using the crib more you could always use the bassinet up in the living room with you if he/she needs a quick nap or just to be comfortable. They look like handy things |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks for all your input girls! I think we're definitely going to get one now. I like the idea of putting the basinette right in the crib when its time to convert from it to the crib. Also, liked the ideas of having it downstairs when LO needs to go down for a nap, instead of running all the way upstairs to put him/her in the crib. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yep. Here it is.
So far I'm in love with it, so I hope bubs is too lol. It vibrates and has music as well as having the mobile move. A bonus is that it's got a soft light on it that pans around, so it won't be harsh on the baby's eyes in the middle of the night. So far I think it has been the best thing I've bought. |

Thats actually the kind of basinette I was thinking of getting because of it being on a rocker and higher off the ground, I would like it to be next to bed. |
