My name is Brad, I am Vanessa's husband. She asked me to come onto the site tonight and ask that you pray for us since it worked for Turbomom's baby. Long story short the baby is going to be delivered early, as early as tommorrow in fact. We are scared and will need your prayers because she is only 29 weeks at this point and Noah is only estimated to weight in at 2lbs.
Vanessa has been feeling sick all week but did not think it was anything serious. Everything changed last night when she started to become seriously ill and as a result contacted her doctor this morning. The mid-wife was on call and after talking with her asked us to come to the hospital to be checked out. It turns out she is not in pre-term labor, but instead had all of the signs of preeclampsia (headaches, extreme swelling, high blood pressure, sharp pains etc) and this was confirmed later by lab results and other tests. She was immediately transferred via ambulance to the regional high risk pregnancy hospital St Mary's Medical Center (SMMC) in West Palm Beach. Initially the talks were preparing us with the new reality of her staying here for 6-8 weeks or as long as they could until the baby is delivered. However, that mindset changed just a few hours ago after additional test/labs and an unltrasound of the bloodflow in the umbilical cord came back, the talk changed to a few days not weeks. Now we have been told it could actually be as early as tommororw that they will be forced to take (deliver) the baby as ending the pregnancy is the only cure for this condition.
We will keep you posted. Please keep us in your prayers...
I am thinking of you both, and really wish you all the best - stay stong!!!!!! I am sure you have a strong little man there, he has made it this far!!!!! xxx
