Filed a complaint with company


I just called my OB's office the second time today and told the receptionist I had called early hours this morning and still hadn't gotten a response on my concerns pertaining to my double vision and some aching I have had in my arm and shoulder. She told me the nurse was going through the paper work as we were speaking and would get to me shortly.

This pissed me off because 1) I called hours ago with my concern and it is ridiculous I still haven't gotten a response 2) I asked specifically to have my OB contact my personally, not a nurse, because when his nurses call me they give me brief answers that make no sense. So the receptionist told me to call the line back and press 3 to talk with a nurse. I did this about 3 times and was directed to a answering machine, which only angered me more, because the nurse is obviously sitting at the desk and refusing to answer me calls.

So I called the company (Physicians Associates) and filed a complaint. I told them I was waiting hours to see the doctor when I have set appointments, that the staff is rude to me, and that I have played cat and mouse trying to get a hold of my doctor for answers to questions and worries I have. Not only do I wait all day long for a call back but my OB never calls me back. It is his staff that does so, although every time I call, I request for him to call me back himself.

The woman I talked to said she would have the director of my OB's office call me back and work my complaints out with me and that she was very sorry that this was happening. She said she felt as if it was in the director of my OB's office jurisdiction to sort this out with me and then she told me that I shouldn't be going through this with my OB's office.

I am so pissed off and can't wait to get this sorted out. I am at my witts end and I will change OB's if I am not contacted today and nothing gets sorted out.

I dont know how the health system works where you are (i am in the uK) But is there no emergancy service or on call doctor? What would happen if you were in labour, would you still have to wait this long? sounds bad.
Would complain if it gets your stress levels too high, remember you can always complain when the little one is here and safe.

Awwww hun - your OB sounds really awful and I don't blame you one little bit for being annoyed. I think you definately did the right thing in making a complaint and hopefully they will pull their finger out and get things sorted as soon as possible for you
