Think its normal to be apprehensive, have you told your midwife the extent of your worries?. Don't think a c-section is the 'easier' option though. Usually have to have a medical/obstetric reason for a c-section on the nhs.

thnx for replying coccyx, asked my m/w twice for c-section but she said like you that i had no medical reson for it, dont like to keep on at her ill sound like a right duh.. my gp was more sympathetic, even over a phone consultaion she said she could hear the fear in my voice.. so that why she is willing to write a referal for me. (ps. being nosey but what part of llinc r u in? i used to live there with my hubby2b in gainsborough, i moved back to house hunt when i found out i was pg.)

Don't think the midwife should dismiss your concerns. Maybe talking to consultant or hospital midwife would help. My sister has had vaginal and csections and said she would choose vaginal every time. Perhaps if you could pinpoint what it was you were so scared of it would help. I was more concerned about people seeing my lady parts in all their glory! As my midwife said its just hair and flesh down there and her main aim was to help me deliver safely . ( I live a few miles north of Bourne)

im not blaming the m/w's who are at my antenatal coz their so understaffed and overworked but i havent had the best experience with them (well one of them is renound for being really abrupt but ive only seen her twice pheeew!!) and because this is my first i dont know how far to push ie. keep asking for a c-section, which is why i rang my gp who refered me to see a consultant, maybe he/she will be able to help me get to grips with this "phobia" i seem to have sprung... (never heard of where you are, is it nr leeds/sheffield way or more cleethorpie way?? X)

I don't think I would say I am terrified...I am scared for sure, but it has to get done.
I know it is gonna hurt like a bitch, but I cannot wait for the moment I hear the cry and hold my little one on my chest.
