I'm Currently Feeling: | Birthing Doctor Grrrrrrrr. I'm quite upset with my birthing doctor. The first time I met him was on Nov 27th and I was to have another prenatal with him in January--- well, they never called me to tell me the date I was booked for so I just called them. They can't get me in to see him until Feb 29th!!!! By then I'll be nearly 34 weeks. My next and final appointment with him is March 18th when I'll be 37 weeks and then I see him once I go into labour.
Unfortunately we can't give birth in my town, so I have to travel an hour to the next town to do it. I'm really pissed, I wish they would've been more organized about it because now I'm stuck in a hole.
I've got so many questions that I want answered such as: what happens when I go into labour? do DH and I take off and drive to the next town? do we call the ambulance or my doctor here? what if we get stuck on the way? what if something happens to our truck? If I go into labour before term I'll be completely lost! Stupid doctors.... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Wanna know a funny thing? I haven't even met my birthing doctor yet!
Apparently my doctor referred me to this woman, but I have heard nothing from the OBs office and it has been more than 2 weeks since I was "referred".
It looks like I will be seeing her in February and I will be over 30 weeks then.
I do feel a little lost as well, but I guess I don't have any other choice.
Why can't you give birth in your town? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Eek! I can't believe you haven't even met them yet. Maybe you should ask your doc at the next check up?
We can't give birth here because our doctor's don't want to be liable if anything goes wrong. They'll deliver you if it's an emergency but they say that because the town is so small that there wouldn't be enough births so they wouldn't have enough experience.
I was talking to a woman due around the same time as me in the store the other day and she said with her last child she was 6cm dilated and crowning here, but they still put her in an ambulance and brought her to the next town. |
