Hi! Raspberry leaf tea?

Hi everyone,

I havent posted for a long time, but still been having a look to see how everyone is getting on

I was wondering when and if people are starting to drink/take raspberry leaf tea or tablets? Does anyone know if it really helps at all? I hadn't heard of it with my first, but a few people are saying to me to start taking/drinking it at around 36 weeks?

Thanks in advance! x

The first time i drank rasberry leaf tea is when i was 39 weeks pregnant (3 days away from my due date) and the next morning i woke with contractions. Dunno if it was just coincodience though. But i guess it has a diffrent effect on everyone xx

I'm planning on getting some at 36-ish weeks. I'm not expecting it to have a great effect but I'm hoping it will make the actual labour better.

From what I've read it doesnt bring on labour but lots of people who've drank it said they had shorter and uncomplicated labours. I drank loads of it last weekend whilst in pre-labour and although the contractions felt bearable I had 14 hours of them then they stopped so it wasn't enough to do the trick for me!

I will start drinking it again this weekend and intend to drink lots of it during labour too, at the very least it wont do any harm and who knows it really might help?

I've taken the pills with my first two pregnancies and now with this my 4th.
You start at week 32 with 1 pill per day and slowly increase this to 4 by week 38-39.
RLT is not meant to induce labour it is used to strengthen/tone the muscles of the uterus and help you deal and manage the second stage of labour to contract more efficiently during labour, the reason it is not recommended before week 32 is that in some cases it can bring on labour prematurely.

I was told to start at 36 weeks by a homeopath I take the capsules. As others have said its meant to help tone the uterus and prepare it for labour
