So exhausted

My body is screaming for mercy from my head to my toes I feel like crap. I have had hyperemesis since week 6 which probably does not help but I jus feel like I can't go on much more, I ache all over and I just feel so sick all the time, I haven't been able to sleep at night now for about 6 weeks and I was up at 3am this morning as I was keeping hubby awake so I thought I'd get up and let him get some sleep as he had work this morning. I've been off work sick since the end of February and I can't get out much as I'm so sick, or too weak and when I do go out I can't go far as I have fainted 7 times already, my GP has told me not to go anywhere alone and the consultant at the hospital said she can't find any other reason than the fact that I'm very malnourished and weak from the hyperemesis. My tummy hurts so much from all the vomiting and now on top of all that my baby seems to have dropped down and I get this weird pain/pressure down in my pelvic area every so often and it makes me pee every half hour! The only good thing is that I'm finding it a bit easier to breathe - not much but every bit helps. I'm sorry for the long moan (all I do these days) but I just want this pregnancy to be over and get my life and my health back again cos I feel like hell and I know some people say to me oh you've only 9 weeks to go but they don't seem to get that with each day I feel worse and weaker and I really just feel like I can't go on anymore

I don't really know what you are going through, as I don't have any experience with the condition you are facing. I feel for you But maybe you should be on bed rest... I know relaxing is always a nice comfort- but then again there's only so much being laid out a person can take. So maybe try swimming, floating- anything to take the pressure off your joints and relax you honey!! You don't have much longer, I know you are probably sick of hearing this- but you will pull through and have a great "present" at the end for all your hardship!!!

thanks, the hyperemesis has just been truly awful, I lost so much weight with it which I didn't have to lose in the 1st place and I've been in and out of hospital for IV fluids and on anti emetics (which did not work for me) I would not wish this on my worst enemy as it so bad it's like having severe food poisoning for 7 months

I'm in County Down in Northern Ireland, do you know of it?

Hi, crafty mum, sorry you feel so bad. I had morning sickness till 20 weeks and i found that hard enough. It must be horrible to have it all the way through though.
I have been pretty much house bound all pregnancy with tiredness (had to stop taking drugs for palpitations before i got pregas) so understand how you feel. by the time i get up and dressed in the morning i am normally am so tired i have to sit down again. and cant go out at all in this heat without feeling really dizzy and overheating. It just doesnt seem fair does it, i always imagined it to be really fun when your pregnant and was soo looking forward to enjoying it, now i just count down the days and wonder how i will cope with my baby if i ever decide to do all this again.
I just keep thinking that at least my body seems to be doin a good job of keeping my little one safe and it wont be long till the babs is here and i am back to my normal self.
How understanding is you family and husband, mine is trying his best but i thing i am slowly driving him mad lol. Hope you are feeling a little better. :-) and all the best for the next few weeks.

Hey Craftymum,
I know how you feel with the hyperemesis, I too was suffering very badly. But Ondansatron worked a miracles!! Have you been able to try it?? We moved house (and GP) mid pregnancy and my new GP is happy to prescribe it, but my old one was reluctant. It is an all consuming feeling of nausea though....really horrid. Hopefully it will calm down for the last few weeks for you.

sooo tired I know exactly what you mean about being so tired I'm like that too, even just getting up sometimes to go to the loo is such an effort. If I do go out I only go out at the weekend with my hubby as I tend to faint a lot so I only feel safe going out with him, my hubby has been great through out the whole thing and he can't wait til the baby is born to have me back to my old self again.
Emmerypemmery glad you got over your HG it really is a horrible thing and noone seems to really get it unless they've been there too. My GP would only prescribe me cyclizine which did nothing for me and then the hospital prescribed me metaclopramide which made me feel very spaced out so I had to stop them. I hope I get a few weeks break too but I'm so tired and weak from not being able to eat anything other than white bread, cheese and fruit and I haven't really been able to drink cold drinks as they just don't stay down for the last 7 months that it'll probably take a long while before I feel any benefit, I have heard it can take 1-2 years for the body to replenish itself after HG but I have also heard that as soon as the placenta is delivered the sickness just magically vanishes. I can't wait for that first proper meal and cold drink again! I'm just hoping I go at 36/37 weeks as hate the thought of hanging on until 40! Def never going through this again it's horrendous, I was very sick with my daughter too for about 6 months but not as bad as it's been this time round.
