I'm waiting for my GTT results. Got to phone back in an hour or so cos the results are back but havn't been commented on by the dr so they can't actually give me the results yet. Hoping that they come back negative cos I dont particularly want to be induced. You will soon get used to pricking your finger though. Which machine did they give you? Some of the prickers are more gentle than the others.

It's TRUEone meter and pricker, I'm just waiting for the chemists to order new lancets as the more gentle ones I've run out of! I'm sure it will get easier in time(she says hopefully!). I'm just so hungry at the moment and just not sure what to snack on as usually it would be fruit but can only have 3 small pieces a day now. The dietician said that there wasn't much sugar in my diet so not much i can change to bring my levels down apart from smaller carb portions.

Goddess - have you tried sugar free jellies or low sugar custard pots? I lived on those...

Oh a tip for getting blood out before using lancet - rub your finger to make it warm or run under warm tap... It does get easier, promise

Also if you like bread - I had to change my bread to Burgen Soya and Linseed, lower carbs which allowed me to have two pieces.. Also snack on ham and cheese etc if you can eat those.
