oral EPO??? what is this??


hiya ladies been readin in sum threads and just wondered what this is???

evening primrose oil. comes in capsules.

ahh thx, so what is it used for, i have never herd of it b4, ??? sorry for questions, im jus curious??? thanks for replying, x

It contains prostaglandins, which are the substances that make the cervix ripen (soften) so it opens nicely in labour. Because of this, it's not advised to take during pregnancy until the baby is full term. You can either take the capsules orally or insert them vaginally (I did this and had a yucky cottage cheese-like discharge a few days later so quit) or you can pierce the capsules and smear the oil directly onto the cervix (if you are dextrous enough).

I'm taking the capsules orally now because I'd do anything other than eat 8 pineapples if it'll help my baby want to come out!

ahh i see, so has it worked for you do you know, i dnt think i will need to anything like that bcoz the hospital arnt goin to let me go over coz of all the bleeding i keep havin, last time i was in hospital, and one of the doctors cam round to se how i was doin, she said to me if i was 36wks then ideally they would want me to go into labour, i hope you dnt have to wait long hun, xx

ah well, I wouldn't bother if I were you, doesn't sound like your body will need any help!

as for me, 5 days to go and I have a feeling he's in there for a while yet... but I'll carry on with the RLT and EPO because if I end up being induced, the mw said things should get going quicker if my cervix is soft already.
