I'm Currently Feeling: | baby not moving as usual, some advice pls!! hey ladies, well heres the worry, im 39 weeks gone and am due to have my c-section on monday coming (14th), the thing is, is that the last 2 days the baby has really slowed down in her movements, she is still moving but nothing like she was last week, i know that they grow each day at this stage and she hasn't got the room like she used to have in there, if i prod her she wiggles instantly and that settles my worry for that moment but in the back of my mind its still bothering me, do u think i should call the hospital about it or is this totally normal for this stage? any advice u ladies have would be very helpful and mindresting. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hey hon,
Make sure she's doing the regular 10/day count. If its below or if you have a feeling something is wrong then I would go into labor ward and get monitored for a few hours, just to make sure things are ok. If she's still doing the normal 10 movements per day or more thing then she's probably getting ready to make an entrance. I heard you get a lack of movement a few days/week before you go into labor. So maybe you should give your doctor a ring? and see what they think you should do as you have a scheduled C-Section. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | If you are worried about something, then it is always worth ringing the MW or Dr, just so they can put your mind at rest!!
My LO hardly moves at all anymore, just the odd wriggle every so often, like you say, they don't have much room in there anymore! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think it's normal for sure, though not as close to delivery as you I have experienced the same thing over a few days. One week my lil one is super active then for about 3 days or so he/she barely moves much but later returns to their active state. Babies have their up and down moments and supposedly the closer you get to your deliver the less they move...
Have you tried doing that kick count, where you count the number of movements in a 10min period?
If you're still super worried, call your doc to at least get peace of mind. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | well i called labor ward just now and got through to a male midwife, he didnt seam to concerned but never had much advice for me either, he just said if i still feel the baby is not moving enough then to come in to be checked, i mean if i thought it was normal i wouldnt have called so now im left confused as wether to pop in there or not, the hospital is like 2 min walk from my house on the next road but i hate feeling like im being a worry bug for nothing through this whole pregnancy this is the first time iv had a worry and called the hospital but i still feel like im gonna be wasting there time, coz the baby is moving just very slowely and not hardly as much as she was, why couldnt he have just said to come in instead of make me feel like im being silly and its my choice to go in or not. i hate hospitals especially the NHS |

People can be really insensitive and men don't really know how much we worry. I would just go in hon, just to be sure and put your mind at ease. It sounds like you're really worried and its just going to eat away and stress you out. Plus, the hospital isn't far away and its not a waste of time when it comes to your baby. Go get some reassurance that all is well .
When I had a drop of movements with my son at 27ish weeks I went in and everything was normal, I felt bad for going in but it made me feel better to know he was alright and its totally worth it for peace of mind and to know your little one is ok. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Get it checked out please, you are probably fine, but...
I had this huge discussion last night with a nurse friend (works in the baby dept) her final say on it was if something doesn't seem right, movements and stuff to go in! Don't worry about being an inconvenience, or a worry wart it's better for it to be nothing and you are reassured than for you to go in the next day and have them tell you that there is no heartbeat why didn't you come sooner...
I don't want to cause you to worry but I wanted to pass on what I thought was one of the most valuable pieces of info I've had. The nurses here make $32ish and hour and for that they can deal with us pregnant people,it's their job and what they are paid that money to do. |
