No longer fearing glucose test!!

At my scan appointment today i got some bloods done and the lady was explaining the glucose tolerance test i am going to have on Wednesday... Apparently they no longer give you that nasty drink its now Lucozade!!! lol how happy am i

!!

I remember it last time around with my daughter, the midwife said just sip it lol she came back around 20 mins later and i was still only half way down the cup .. she politely explained i had to drink it a tad faster than that lol xx

Thats a bonus, the drink was/is disgusting!!!!! Lucozade is so much better!

I have mine in a week and it said on my letter it was lucozade they give you, I was sooo pleased. I actually quite like it - lol.

I don’t know what drink they give you in the UK, but in the US, it’s the orange flavored one that tastes like a decarbonized soda pop. It’s not that gross – but you do get a little ill afterwards from the sugar high, then the down. I drank it all within 3 mins!

yeah u have to drink a can and a little bit within 10 minutes.... its much nicer than b4 but still ewwwckkk cause i dnt like lucosade hehe

Ya in canada its orange pop flavoured mine was even carbonated lol i was like wow it litterally tastes like drinking pop it did nothing to me probably because im hypoglycemic which is opposit of diabetic so it wouldnt give me the rush you would get being normal because my blood sugar is low naturally i was so scared to get mine done lol and it was like nothing i dunno what i was so worried about though weirdo i am lol

I was giving a flat drink which wasn't lucozade but tasted a bit like it. Managed to just knock it back in a couple of mouthfuls. I thought i'd find that easier than sipping it.

Does anyone know what theirblood glucose scores were? Before the test mine was 5.9 and I found out yesterday that the result after the test was 4.8 so I dont have GDM

Oh mine was half a glass of glucose powder topped up full with water. I managed two thirds of it before I knew it was going to make me sick.

I still got a diagnosis of GD even though I didn't finish it.

I'm glad mine was the yucky orange drink as theres no way i could have drunk a bottle of Lucozade! My HE does not like fizzy

Mine was 4.1 and 5.4
