| Bedrest and hypertension? So Thursday I went to my doctor appointment and they told me that my blood pressure was high and that I was dehydrated. They took blood and told me to "limit my activity", & no walking. and to come back Monday (tomorrow). Woke up the next morning with a serioussssssss headache, was lightheaded so I called the hospital and told them I had high blood pressure, was 37 weeks pregnant and had a agonizing headache and was lightheaded. They told me to lay down in a dark room on my left side with no disturbances. I did-for 2 hours- and my had had only gotten worse and by now I was throwing up. My hubby and his mother were scared so they took me to the hospital (even though my hardheaded self refused...) got there, told them was was happening, they took more blood and an hour later came in and told me i had pregnancy induced hypertension, and Adema (which in my understanding is just where you swell a lot, everywhere) and told me to be on COMPLETE bedrest, drink only water and they gave me a tylenol 3. Said since i was 37 weeks that if I went into labor they wouldn't stop it, and that they also wouldn't let me go past 40 weeks. Baby is fine has a great heartbeat, is already HUGE (the nurse was saying they sometimes have to do c sections when the baby is too big....got me scared..) and that if i had the baby now he would be just fine.
So now I'm lying here not doing anything and it is driving me insane. My hubbys mother and HER mother are telling me to drink two teaspoons of castor oil (they swear by it) so I can just go into labor and be done with it.
Long post but just wanted to see if any of this has happened to anyone else? This is my first pregnancy and I want it to be over with! Thanksss |
