High blood pressure?

So went to my appointment today and the doctor said I hadn't dilated much more ('m ALMOST 2 cm now), and that I needed to have blood drawn because my blood pressure was outrageously high and they put me on bedrest until this monday when I have to come back to the doc so they can check it again. They said this is why I was getting dizzy and seeing shiny spots and getting so irritated and worked up lately. And also when they were drawing my blood they said that I was a little dehydrated. Has this happened to anyone else? What do they check for when they draw your blood for high blood pressure?
thanks in advance!

Hi there

You sound like you are displaying some signs of pre-eclampsia. I have that and have done in all of my 3 pregnancies. It could be dangerous if not monitered properly

When they take your bloods they are checking for the levels in your kidneys as this is what high blood pressure will effect. If this comes back and it is affecting your kidneys then you will more than likely be induced.

So you need to take that bed rest and look after yourself

Hopefully your tests come back clear and it was just a wee blip for you

Look after yourself
