Update re: c-section or not to c-section

Well I had my appt this morning, and he was all set to tell me the risks from having a waterbirth after a c-section and vbac... I tried to say I have changed my mind, but he said 'Oh I need to tell you all the risks'. He continued to say he would allow it but it was against his recommendation and that he doesnt know of a midwife who would take the risk.

Anyway finally I got to say my bit and said I have changed my mind and would like to elect a c-section. He nearly feinted and said that out of all the things he expected me to say, that was the last one.

Anyway needless to say he was very pleased at my decision and its now booked for 7/8/09 The midwife said what a cool birthdate.. I quite like it too.

Thanks for all your input with my uncertainty.. hearing good c-section experiences helped more than you can imagine.

talking of birth dates,

my OHs neice was 6 on 06/06/06!!!!

now that is NOT a cool birthday date

glad you are comfortable with your decision and that you are feeling positive- it will be a better experience for it! stay positive! and it is a great birthdate!

Thanks. I am more excited now than nervous. I was trying to keep calm about it all but inside my stomach was doing backflips. But since I slept on it and made the firm decision I am so chuffed.

I also called my mum and she is going to come over specially for it too.

cool birthdate. Before I was scanned to get my due date.. I thought it would be cool to have a birth date of 09/09/09 as partner is a cop. Turned out that I was actually 4 weeks further on than we all guessed!! lol
