nappies

nappies
i have brought tesco nappies only because i just didnt think it would matter what brand you brought To put it in other terms they only pee and poo in them.

some one has just said to me that you should always use the best when it comes to nappies i.e do not buy cheap ones like tesco. what are your views?

everyones differenet and has different experiances with different brands, some swear by the cheap ones other prefer brand names!
With me last I only used george (asda own make) as anythig else esp posh brands (eg pampers) caused nappie rash!

some say huggies leak, others say sainsburys own make are better then brand!! but its trial and errror!!

go with whatever you want and what you find best for babas bum

I used the pampers newborn ones last time, but only because in my mind most expensive = best.. however, with my little boy, everything leaked out of them, huggies didnt fit right, and during a random visit to sainsbury's where I had to change his nappy, there were ones you could use in the mother & baby room of their own make, so I tried one of them and they were FAB!! I used sainsburys until he was about 9 months and then switched back to pampers for the pull up style nappies.
I used Tesco/sainsburys with my daughter and had no probs.

The issue I have with pampers/huggies is that according to their adverts, they are so absorbent they can hold pee for up to 12 hours... in my opinion, babies shouldnt be sitting in anything for up to 12 hours, and I think this marketing encourages lazy parenting and has increased nappy rash.
I would much prefer to buy a cheaper nappy and change it every time baby pees rather than just when they poo.. it stops them getting nappy rash, and I think actually helps when it comes to potty training as they dont like the feeling of sitting in something wet and are more aware of having an accident.
Certainly worked for my 2, there were both potty trained by a year, it only took a week and we've never had accidents... but that's just my opinion.. sorry for rambling!!!

ohhh never thought of it like that. but yes definately i assumed you should be changing the nappy even if its just a wee.i wouldnt want to sit in my wee so why would a baby. ha ha well ill give the tesco ones ago what i have brought. if the lo doesnt like i will just try a diff brand.

Ive bought huggies but everyone is different and I think its just about finding the right ones for your baby. Like someone else said its trial and error. The cheaper ones might be the best for you? Or for other people it might be the more expensive ones.

I don't fancy waking my LO up to change her nappy during the night. She goes 7-7 in the same nappy and does just fine. No nappy rashes either. Shes had 1 in her life and I think it was due to teething and having runny poos, not because she was in her nappy all night. + Im not lazy when it comes to my baby WHATSOEVER.

different brand definately fit different babies. My son hardly went well in any brand, I was constantly changing to try and find one he wouldnt leak out of and I changed his nappy at least 10 times a day when he was little.
This time I am going with reuseables as I ended up hating disposables.
