I did feel like complaining but thought they would just make me look like an idiot to be honest. I was in last week for this gushing and the MW then(different one) said she couldn't even tell if my water had broke but came to the conclusion it hadn't so I was sent home. I just don't see how discharge can come out in a gush, plus it is not thick like discharge it is like fluid. The gushing has stopped but I keep getting like 3 in a row sometimes on different days, that's why I rang up. Makes you not want to go in again when your treated like an idiot.

My regular MW is on holiday at the moment so can't ring her. I asked another MW at my doctors earlier in the week why the hospitals are not doing the amniotic fluid tests and she said they are not accurate so are not used anymore.

I'd took a pad with me that I'd had the gushes on and showed her and she said the brownish colour just looks like discharge, I said I had clear fluid come out as well(not so noticeable now as sort of dried up on the pad) but I said I'm concerned about the colouring and she just said it's normal discharge and then started questioning me asking if I have symptoms of thrush or a urine infection.

She then asked to see the pad I had on which I'd JUST changed from the previous one, and so there wasn't much on it, when she saw it she just looked at me like I was a complete idiot and said, 'No the waters have not gone you haven't got anything best for you to go home.'

I was so upset, I was standing there and the woman was just talking to me like I know nothing. I had gushes of fluid this morning what does she expect me to do? I want to be sure my baby is okay! Plus this is my first.

So I never even got checked out at all and I've just noticed she wrote in my notes not confirmed waters have gone.

I'm so annoyed and just feel like an idiot!

Also she said if they had gone I'd be wetting all over the place and soaking through continuous pads!! Thought they could just trickle out?!

Mine trickled since wk 33 and nobodu believed me i had a growth scan at 36 wks and no waters plz dont let them fob u off

Ask for a second opinion please. My waters trickled for a whole day before I went in ( no contractions and had things to do ) The doctor didn't think they had gone as I had barely anything in the pad but on a whim, because I'd mentioned this had been going on all day he put the tiny sample he had under the scope and sure enough I WAS leaking. I had been so convinced by him that I wasn't leaking earlier that we had already called home and said we were on our way back. He came running back into the exam room telling me I wasn't going anywhere!

I had my daughter 28ish hours later (induced)

By having your waters leaking you AND baby can get an infection
Please be pushy if you have to to get a second opinion

I second what everyone else says and think you should go back and see someone else. It is utter crap that you'd be leaking everywhere. With my last 2, I had what are called hind waters. My waters never broke, they had to get broken by the midwives when I was in labour, but even when they did break, hardly anything came out at all.
Once my babies were out, then I got the huge big gush. I cant see how she can tell just by looking at you.. especially so close to your date x

Thanks girls for your replys really appreciate it

I think I might go back in when fiance is back from work(he went back to work as we were told it's nothing )

I actually tried telling the MW that I've heard it can come in small trickles and she just dismissed it saying 'it doesn't matter if the head is in the way the waters still keep coming out' it's like you couldn't tell her anything as she knows it all.
Really annoyed as just wish they would do a swab and tell me for sure but as that other MW said they don't do it anymore?!

Losing my rag in this hot weather going back and forth as well lol!

I am totally appalled at the way your being treated. May I ask what the name of the hospital is? Anyway have you been feeling your lo moving plenty? I am more concerned that you havent been monitored at any point.

Luton & Dunstable hospital.. in UK.

Yeah lo is moving like usual, and it's so frustrating always being sent home it's like they have no time for you!

the swabs don't always work, that is why I almost got sent home. They do it here, not sure about there, but they can check on a slide under a microscope

That's exactly it. Its your hind waters. That is what happened to me.

They still do the tests here in Canada, and they could tell it was mine. Did they do an internal or anything?
