New Car = panic attacks!

Oh goodness. I had been thinking about buying a new car for weeks. A safer 'isofix' family car.

Well yesterday I did it. I bought one. I got a cracking deal on it but the thing is I put in my old focus (which was fully paid for) as a deposit.

Now I'm in a credit agreement. I thought I was so sure about this new car and now I'm not so sure. I'm stressed, worried, not sleeping etc etc. The £150p/m 3yr commitment is scaring the crap out of me and it can't be doing baby any good. I've worked out that I can afford it but thats not helping me relax.

Is this just pregnancy hormones making me so jittery? I need to work out how to calm down, and fast!

If you can afford it then don;t worry, wish our car was that cheap we are paying over £300 a month for ours. It is scarey though esp with a little one on the way.

If you can afford the payments I wouldn't worry - just think about how much safer bubs will be in it x

it's probably hormones that aren't helping...suddenly everything thats already big seems so much bigger when you have a baby to factor in, combine that with third tri hormones when they seem to take you all over the place (if you're anything like me!) and yeah you're bound to stress out

just force yourself to think rationally when you panic, about how you can afford it, the benefits of the car and so on

I've done exactly the same thing this week and traded my fully paid golf in as part ex for a bigger one. I've been stressing loads too so glad i'm not the only one! i kept thinking whether we should wait or not but went for it in the end. Main reason like you was family car, Isofix etc.

I'm also ridiculously attached to my lovely little Golf and even had a chat with her this morning to say it would be the last drive to work together etc! i felt really stupid but i defo think the hormones are playing a part!

i reckon the main reason i've been having doubts is going off on maternity leave, not having my usual salary etc. You're not on your own but enjoy the new car!! x

I went on maternity leave this week too. I think the combination of everything changing has thrown me up in the air a bit. I'm so set in my routine. I'm a little calmer today, although still quite jittery! Baby's ok, he's been kicking like a good un so he's none the worse!

It's very scary isn't it??? Well, first of all, congrats on the new car

I've been stressing over money too, especially now being on mat leave! I still have to wait a few weeks for a paycheque!! DH talked me down, and I'm not so stressed anymore. We'll all be able to do it, we might just have to be more careful what we spend our money on. Like, I have to stop eating fast food every second day! lol......... We'll ALL be able to make it work hun, and now you have a nice new safe car for you and your family

we bought our new SUV in January and I am terrified we wont be able to pay for everything. I am justifying it that we wont be paying $50 per 5 days in gas for me to go back and forth to work, and I am hoping we will be ok. Now after I go back to work from Maternity Leave and have to pay for childcare that will be different!

Good point about the gas! We'll all be saving lots of money there!

Oh, another thing, it might not be A LOT of savings, but call your car insurance company. If you're not using your car to go back and fourth to work, they can change the category to pleasure, and save a few bucks
