angelcare monitor

Has anyone got an angelcare sound and movement monitor? I've been thinking of getting one, but I'm very confused on how it works and, if it wont be more a headache than an assurance. I understand that if it detects no movement for 20 seconds it will sound an alarm. But, if the baby is sleeping there will be times he wont move for longer than that, right?

Sorry if I'm being dumb!

I think heartbeat and breathing count as movements. We've got one but no baby to test it on yet, lol.

it senses movement from the breathing and the hearbeat and sets off an alarm if it doesn't detect anything for 20 seconds.

My friend had one of these, and she recommends it. I think it tells temp etc as well, so is a really practical monitor for peace of mind.

We will probably buy this system when we get round to shopping!

It's also good because when baby is older you just take out the mat and it still works as a normal monitor with a thermometer.

i had an angelcare with both my boys as they slept on front - i was more than happy to pay the £150 it cost back then. heartbeat and breathing are enough movement for it to pick up.

with this 1 i have a MAWS reasurance 8 (same type of thing with sensor mat) but was cheaper!

I just bought one today from tesco - it was £68 but I doubled up clubcard vouchers so only paid £8 - bargain
