First time I was on lobitalol and in hospital as my BP was a steady 180/110

(can see how well they worked). I was induced at 35 weeks.
Second time I was to be induced at 35/36 weeks but had an abruption and em c section instead.
This time I am on lobitalol (low dose - 300mg per day) and if I get to 36 weeks they will induce again.
The thing with the tablets is that if your BP is controlled it doesn't stop the biochemical changes in your body, just slows it down. So your BP can be nice and low(ish) but your uric acid levels etc are rising to dangerous levels.
That and the fact that every day you remain on the tablets is an extra day that they are playing with fire as pre-eclampsia can suddenly get very nasty with no warning whatsoever.
