Bloody Nose

Are bloody noses common? I thought I read something about getting them in pregnancy in a book a while back, but I thought I'd ask! Last night out of nowhere my nose just started bleeding horribly for about ten minutes. Should I be worried?!

I dont think a one off should be cause for concern , I read they are fairly common in pregnancy too. If you get them more frequently though, I think it would be an idea to get your BP checked cause when I get nosebleeds its normally an indication that my BP is up.

Oh! I never even thought of that. I seem to be borderline with my BP and I was a bit stressed last night so maybe that's why. Thanks!!

I've had loads through my pregnancy and never used to have them before. Drives me nuts but my midwife said its normal. Something to do with the extra blood pumping through your body i think...

yep, me, too - there's always big bloody snots in there and there's been a few times I've blown my nose and it's started bleeding freely. Before being pregnant I have had one nose bleed that I recall, when I was about 8 years old. It's yuck, and I cannot wait for my nose to get back to normal (have had bad congestion since the few days before I found out I was pregnant, though there are times when it's easier now).

Oh!! Nose bleeds are soooo annoying! I get one every day! My blood pressure is absolutely fine and the midwife said there is no need for concern! Must just be one of those wonderful pregnancy things!! xxx

I've had a bloody nose throughout pretty much all my pregnancy, and a reallllyyy stuffy nose like ALL the time that sounds like I have a cold when I talk.
I had my blood taken the other week which has turned out fine, I wanted to be on the safe side as I have been getting nose bleeds on and off for 3 weeks now, usually when I'm a bit stressed, the blood just pours out of nowhere and I got quite worried, but blood was fine and told it is pretty normal by MW.
