Raspberry Leaf Tea tablets - what dosage??

Hi Girls...

I'm really bad with any fruit/herbal teas as they make me but wanted to start taking Raspberry Leaf tea soon...

I am going to buy the tablet version but I'm not sure what the correct dosage is - i.e. how many milligrams per day etc.

Can anyone help??

Hey hun,

I just bought the tebags from Holland and Barratt, but they do the tablets too and there was no choice in the dosage. I read this article though...

http://www.pregnancy.com.au/raspberry_leaf.htm which stated Raspberry leaf can be taken in tablet form, teabags, loose leaf tea, or as a tincture. Raspberry leaf can be purchased from many health food stores or from a health care practitioner. Due to the limited research on raspberry leaf - the ideal preparation and the ideal dosage is not known at this stage.

The following guidelines on consuming raspberry leaf during pregnancy have been taken from Parsons (1999):

Tablets - Take two 300mg or 400mg tablets with each meal (three times a day) from 32 weeks.

The dose with the teabags is about 3-4 cups a day at my stage of pg...

Good luck....x.

I also found these:
http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnanc...elabourexpert/
http://www.askbaby.com/raspberry-leaf-tea.htm

Basically, the idea is to start slowly (ie 1 cup per day) at 32 weeks and work gradually up to 4 cups per day.

raspberry leaf recommended

i took the lower dose from 28 weeks til 32 with my 1st child then higher dose 32 weeks + and went into labour at 37 weeks. they said i was 2cm dilated at 10pm but kept me in as my cervix was paper thin which was good and meant quick labour. they estimated my daughter would be born early hours and just after midnight she was born! no pushes... although my body took over. i'm going to start the tablets again this time at 28 weeks. i had no complications first time around and reading up on these they are not supposed to indce labour just tone the uterus for more effective comtractions/speed up 2nd stage labour. my 2nd stage was very very quick - 15mins. do;t know if it was the tablets but def worth a go. my midwife said take from 37 wks but glad i didn;t listen as thats when i had my child.
