| Period pains and 'snot' anyone? Sorry to be so gruesome ladies, but I've been having heavy period pains, back pain, braxtons hicks and passing a very snot-like discharge since Saturday now. Has anyone had anything similar? I was induced on my first baby, and my waters just broke and I went straight in to pushing on my second- so I haven't got much of a clue about this one. | | | | Status: Offline

| Hi there. I had that for quite some time when I was pregnant with Nick. The first time I noticed the 'snot' (as you so nicely put it lol) was when I was around 28 weeks pregnant. It vanished after that and didnt return into I was well into 30 weeks. It got heavier and heavier and eventually at a few days over 40 weeks, I lost my mucus plug- it was the snotty discharge only it was mixed with blood.
I had the period pains all the way through actually.
I knew when the baby was ready to come though, I was in labour for 4 days and it all pretty much started when I was in a pub lol.
The period pains are different to what you will actually feel when you're lil one is ready to be born. But having children already Im sure you'll know this? I was induced too, but given a few days I think I may have had him naturally, hesne the snotty discharge etc:.
Good luck with the little one. x x |

| Well, I'm knocking on for 38 weeks now, and haven't had this before. I just hope that it's a sign of something positive and not an infection. My labour were short on the others ( 4 and 2 hours ) but bloody painful- so I'm pretty certain I'll know when the contractions start. | | | | Status: Offline

Like you, I was waiting and waiting for things to happen and it wasnt until I was overdue that things began kicking in, though I did have 2 sweeps.
I hope it means for you, that your baby is on the way.
Keep us posted. x |
