Mucus Plug

Hi ladies, a quick mucus plug question for you.

Last Monday I had a sweep (ouch) and since then I've been having a light pinkish/brownish gooey discharge. Is this the mucus plug? And if it is, should it be taking so long to get out?

Oh, and is what you guys call 'a show' the same as the mucus plug?

If its snotty or jelly like then yeah thats it, it can come out all in one go or in bits and bobs, it can be clear, or twinged with pink red or brown.

Thats a good sign, means your cervix is sofening and almost ready for labour

I believe it's the same thing.

Mine started as clear mucus and the more times I went to the loo (I hardly moved from the loo that night) thin "strings" of bright red blood were appearing. I then had blood (that got me very worried) and then a clot. I rang the labour ward scared and they told me it was just my show and not to panic! Im sure all of our experiences vary, but yes it does sound very much like a show.

Not long hopefully

Thank you for all your answers, I really hope it was the show/plug just coming out slowly. I'm sooo ready to squeeze this baby out already!
