Baby stuff - what haven't you got?

Inspired by the other thread... because it made me realise how much I have still to get for baby...

I still have to get:

- nappies (newborn disposables and after that cloth)
- steriliser (don't know which one except not a microwave one as our microwave doubles as a regular oven and it might sometimes be unavailable or too hot to use)
- bottles
- dummies
- more sheets
- moses basket + sheets
- baby monitor (don't know which, has to be one that won't be affected by or affect the wifi in the flat - any ideas???)
- bouncer
- safety gate (to keep cat out of bedroom)
- towels
- muslin squares
- all toiletries for baby

oh god. it seems like so much

anybody got any recommendations for the above?

I've got some size 2 and 3 packs of nappies - but now not sure what size to get, so putting £10 a week away instead - will get 3 packs on special offer in supermarkets.

my aunt, who's a health visitor, said they don't recommend using baby soap any more - olive oil is the best thing, so I'm going to do that.

The Tommee Tippee steriliser I got can be done in the microwave or with tablets - I assume most are either/or.

My mum got the softest adult towels for me and my sis as she said we grew so fast, cute baby towels are nice but impractical - I've got one set of each.

Bouncer was off ebay for £10.

We have everything!! Well, I'm sure we'll think of things that we need once he makes his appearance.

Yesterday we went and bought the crib mattress, and now we're ready for baby!!

Well I feel much more ready today, with the arrival of the first few bits for cloth nappying and the breast pump and more clothes (hehehehe can't have too many clothes IMO!!)

But, we still have to get:

LOTS more cloth nappy stuff (just testing things out at the mo, but once we know what direction we want to go in we'll need to buy lots!)
Moses basket & bedding etc. (Should be getting this from a friend of mine next week)
Car mirror (car seat will be in the back and I have to sit in the front, and OH will be driving, so we need a good mirror to keep an eye on him!)
Cot mobile (I'm actually making a space-themed mobile, but I'd like to buy a musical one for over the cot itself)
High chair (I know, not till later, but...) - OH's mum wants to buy us this
Play pen (again, not really till later, but still)
Rattles and soft toys (cant have too many!)
More bibs
Brush and comb and nail scissors set
More cuddle dry robes or just some new towels
Cosy Toes / foot muff for buggy
general baby toiletries and wipes (we will likely make some reusable wipes from old towels and stuff)

...and I think that will be it!

Shadow xx

Eeeeep, which one was it? I know that some people have said they don't think the link-a-doos infant to toddler rocker looks "safe", but I really think it does! It seems very sturdy to me... I got it after someone posted in here about it, and I'm really pleased that I got one because it will last so long! Plus you can attach cute stuff to the bar

Tesco had another "buy one get one free" on muslin squares. I personally got mine from TKMaxx...defo worth looking there...as our also had the tommee tippee sterilieser there for a bargain price.

I went for toiletries to boots...i got lots of points and they had a offer on the johnsons stuff at the time.

Thank god, I'm finished baby shopping...good luck and enjoy shopping.

oh my, I feel so disorganised compared to all of you (apart from Shadow!!)

and you've reminded me of other stuff I don't have...

- high chair (will be gift from brother, no hurry on it)
- playpen (want one that can be a room divider as well)
- mobile
- bibs
- toys (have just one tiny monkey so far)
- foot muff (can wait a few months)

crikey. I wish I wasn't so indecisive on the little things... (pushcahir and cot were no bother!!)
