I'm aiming for using just gas and air and considering pethidine if I feel like I need something stronger. I'd prefer not to have an epidural, but I'll still consider it... Really just going with how I feel at the time.

i had gas an air and an epi on Charlie

All 3 on Ethan

Epi on Coby

Gas and air made me feel sick, such a strange feeling but other get on with it fine and it can really help.

Pethidene didnt touch the pain on Ethan, did nothing fo rme atall, waste of time, but then i was admitted to hospital when Ethan was 6 weeks old with tummy cramp which i found worse than labour and pethidene worked within seconds and took all the pain away...strange!

Epidurals worked like a dream for me, took all the pain away but left me with pressure so i could feel when to push. On coby i had a little pain left, it didnt take it all away but it wasnt major so it was fine.

Sorry, forgot to add.

The birthing pool helped alot with part of Charlies labour, the warm water is a great comfort.

Tens machine i have no idea about, i have never tried it.

There are also homeapathic kits that are meant to be good, but i havent tried them

Take whatever is on the menu! Have it all!

Layla up here we have morphine not pethidine (I think they are relatively similar) and I accused them of injecting me with water as it never touched the pain! It was useless, but with Rebecca it helped a bit.

I think certain things work at different stages of labour, you just need to use the appropriate one's at the right time.

Go with the flow hun, you might surprise yourself, and she could just pop out. The whole 10lb!xx (you know Im joking xx)

If i have time then yeah i will be having one again, thats teh first thing i will ask for when i get to the hospital lol

I havent checked wether they do mobile epis at this one, its a different hospital this time round, but either way im still going for it, dont see why i should go through all that pain if i dont need to lol

On the others i had a mobile epi which was topped up when i needed it, i could feel my legs and move them, had no pain (only a bit on Coby) but all the pressure so i could feel when i needed to push, and in fact on Coby i didnt have a choice, my body just took over and started pushing for me.

You still have to stay on the bed with a mobile epi coz they like to monitor you and the babys heart rate but you can move and sit up, much better
