Birth plan??

hey ladies!!
Just wondered if any of you know if we necessarily have to have a birth plan??
My MW has ever even mensioned one to me and i really have no idea that IF i was to write one it would be right anyway.
I know roughly how want things to run, but not too strict in what i do and do not wat as i knw things can change (just DO NOT want pethadine!! as whn i was born i reacted to it and i know it can cause baby to need a litte extra stimulation etc). OH also knows what i would like and wouldlike not to happen, so do you rekon that will be enough?? or should i write it down??
If so has anyone got any decent web addresse to give a brief outline or that they used to write theirs??
Thanks again
xxxxxxxxx

i have made a few notes, but i am aware that they dont get stuck to.

things like students welcome, medical intervention IF needed, NO EPIDURAL WHATSOEVER, general anasethic for c-section, can give vit k injection to baby, OH to cut cord if possible.

the only thing set in stone is no epidural as i have a bad back anyway.

http://hippbabyclub.co.uk/cms_images...f_00000004.pdf is a good one.

You don't have to have one and some people say it's better not to because it's unlikely to be followed anyway. I have written a ridiculously detailed one but it was more for mine and hubbys benefit than anyone elses so that he has a script to go off if I'm not in a state to communicate my wishes if asked.

My m/w never mentioned it to me either. To be honest I am not bothering purely as so much can change as things progress I am just going to play it by ear on the day.

I would suggest if you have any strong wishes that you are adamant about eg cutting cord, drugs etc just make sure your birthing partner knows.
