Name rules in the US?

Hiya, just wondering if you US chicks know if I have to name the baby right away?

We so don't have a boy name yet, and are just 'kind of' decided on a girl name, but I think I need to see the baby first before we decide.

So, at the hospital, when I've birthed this baby, are they gonna be all ''Name?'' because if they are, I'm stumped!

And oh my god, I'm totally due tomorrow, maybe the cooking of the turkey today and everything will get things started...

No honey! You don't have to name the baby immediately! You at least have until you leave the hospital- which is when they do the birth certificate! My bother and sister-in-law didn't decide a name until RIGHT BEFORE they went home!
