Back from hospital

Hi all, just got back from the hospital about half an hour ago (was there for two and a half hours!). As expected, the doctor told us about all the terrible things that could go wrong if I choose not to be induced - The daftest one was when he said that being induced before 14 days over reduces the risk of a c-section, at which point I reminded him that I am already 14 days overdue

Anyway, spent almost an hour strapped to the heart monitor - everything was fine - and then got sent for a scan - again everything was fine - I already knew that everything was fine coz the sprog has been kicking the crap out of me for weeks. So they couldn't persuade me to stay in and get induced.

We have to go back on friday for another scan and hour strapped to the monitor so that'll be most of friday buggered up.

have you been offed any sweeps? is it not something you would like?

You must be so fed up by now, i cant imagine how it must feel to go so overdue, fair play to you tho about not wanting to be induced, as long as baby is fine then stick to your guns

Unless LO decides to come before then!!

Not sure if I've told you this before Marley, but Kayleigh was due on the 1st April (say's it all - April Fools Day!), but she wasn't born till the 19th. I had problems with the placenta all the way through the pregnancy, and they were concerned that she was small, so they let me go that long. She was born at 5.15am, and I was booked in for the induction (against my wishes) at 8am!!!

They do keep offering sweeps but I don't really want one, I know one or two people who have had their waters break as a result of having one and they've ended up being induced and one ended with a c-cection. That's not high on my wish list

I really admire your patience, ive still got 2 days to go and im fed up now, i think i would be climbing the walls and taking anything they offered me if i was in your position!!!

Hopefully you wont have too much longer to wait, your baby is obviously very happy where they are.

Aww nothing yet Marley? I'm glad you held your ground and stuck with your birth plan. From what I hear, being induced is no fun and it's much better when bud comes on their own. Sprinkling lots of labour dust for you hun!

Are you getting Braxton Hicks contractions even?

Have been getting BH for weeks and the monitor was picking them up this morning. They keep asking me if I'm feeling 10 movements in 10 hours - during the monitoring I had 16 movements in 40 minutes! LOL!
