Full of cold

I have such a horrible cold and there's nothing i can do about it

I went in to the chemist yesterday and the lady told me i could only take paracetamol to stop the hot/cold shivers. I've been up since 7am because i can't sleep because i can't breath through my nose.

I've taken today off work as sick and i'm going to have to cancel my weekend plans. I'm due to have my Anti D injection on Monday so i can imagine that will run me down as well.

Has anyone ever taken anything for a cough/cold when pregnant? I also have a sore throat which it aching my ears.

Aww sorry you are ill hun try a mug of hot milk with some honey in it for your throat - other than that I would just say lots of vitamin C - orange juice is good and stay in bed wrapped up warm - hope you feel better soon!

I had two nasty chest colds/sinus infections earlier in the pregnancy, and I heated up a teakettle full of water, dumped it into a mixing bowl and leaned over it with a towel over my head, breathing in the steam. It worked great for helping loosen up the nasal passage so I could clear them out. You just have to be careful initially as it's REALLY hot so I generally let it just just a fraction first. I did that a couple times each day, and it really helped clear out the gunk! Hope you feel better soon!
