I am getting one not got my date yet, should find out on the 12th of June.

Reasons god there are so many!!!!

Previous C Section due to failure to dilate/induction 10 years ago.
Baby is breech and has a heart condition c section means all correct people can be there at delivery.
Had loop therapy treatment on my cervix a few years back which can sometimes cause poor dilation of cervix.

The list is endless haha!!!
They do say a planned section is better, recovery apparently quicker lol

Are you having one?

I'm not having one, but just wondered when most women found out they were having one? i'm only 33 weeks. I'm just really really not keen on hospitals and dont really want a c section! but if it's the healthiest option for LO obviously i'd go for it! xx

Hey hon. Havent got my date yet either. Main reason is because of previous emergency section with DD and horrible labour. My age and arthritis are a factor too. Alot of places will give you the option of a planned section simply on the basis of you having had a previous section and the chance of your uterus wound opening during labour (very small chance but it can happen). Was offered it at my consultant apt at 23 weeks.

If you are healthy there is no reason to offer you a planned c section hon, so dont worry about it!! If you need an emergency one then you need it, simple as!!

I was the same, I really didnt want one, but in order to save DD I had to have one. I was very pleasantly surprised as it wasnt bad at all. I think someone who gave birth naturally and had to have stitches and the like feels just as lousy as you do for the first 2 or 3 days after a section. You are actualy pretty much back to normal by your 6 week check, but feel back to normal long before that!!

I hope you dont need one hon, but honestly, it's not nearly as bad as people seem to think. Far less traumatic and painful than some natural births!!!

I think its more the fear of the unknown thats hard to deal with, if your young and fit (i wish i was) then it be a breeze and the docs wont give u a section just for the hell of it, has to be a good reason.

Kiki hit the nail on the head its far less trumatic and painful than some natural births also you will be so wrapped up in lo you wont care how you feel afterwards lol

Im having a C section at 38 weeks and finally get my date next Tuesday . I knew I was having a C section when I first saw my consultant at 16 weeks. I am disabled and the condition I have in my leg makes it impossible for me to give birth naturally also by giving it a go like I wanted could result in my condition spreading to my hip, it has already spread to my ankle since getting pregnant. Spreading to my hip would result in me not being able to have my amputation when my LO is a year old, so my orthopeadic consultant got in contact with my OB and said it was a no go to vaginal birth. Sorry for the essay. Im not looking forward to it but its the best for me and my LO, Take care XX

I'm having one at 39weeks, June 17. I found out I have a complex ovarian cyst that is 9cm across at my 20wk scan, and FINALLY convinced them to do a section a few weeks ago. They are just going to remove it at the same time. I had a rough labor/delivery with DD (pushed for 8 hours, had to use the vacuum) and I really don't want to go through that again, plus I got ecclamsic after she was born and I REALLY don't wanna have more seizures. I am terrified of being awake when they cut me open though, I'm trying to convince them to knock me out, but they won't.

hi hun, i went 12 hours of labour with my 1st and failed to dilate so was given a c-section. my son was very early and labour was very stressfull for him and me so was given anoother c-section and this oone is pre-boooked for a c-section as they think its now unsafe for me to deliver naturally for fear of rumpturing my previous c-section scars xxx
