it all depoends on how quick it goes, lots of people have long drawn out labours, others have real quick ones, they say your first will be long and drawn out but thats not always teh case, its just a wait and see thing, no one knows for sure.

I am assuming i will have a quick labour coz mine have halved, but then saying that i could have a 22 hour labour or something lol just dont know

[quote=Layla;160257]im no good with miles, how long is that in driving terms? lol

My hospital is a 35/40 min drive away down the motorway, my labours have halved each time.

Charlie was 12 hours from start to finish, no idea what teh esbalished labour time was, i dont go by that, Ethan was 6 hours, Coby was 3 hours, im so worried that if this one halves too i wont make it there in time, i can see Jase having to deliver the baby on the hard shoulder of the M4! ha ha!

When it happens, if its over night then i have to wash my hair, cant go in with it all sticking up, that will take up 10/15 mins, then i have to wait for the kids nan to get here to take over, its all a bit of a worry, wish i had teh guts for a home birth, would be so much simpler!

I was thinkin about this also(hair washin) i cant go out with bed hair, i know it should be the last thing on your mind when your in labour but hey!! And although im not a big wearer of make up i cannot be seen without mascara, im blond so have no eyelashes without it. So im hoping baby comes during the day or that ive got plenty time to make myself presentable before going to hospital!!!

Nicole is going to her uncles and he just lives round the corner from us, so thats not such a problem, i just know im not gonna be organised and i'll forget something vital!! Holy crap, why is stuff so hard!!!

You're not the only one feelin like this- i feel exactly the same and worry i wont know when im in labour either! x

Lorrilou, I also worry about the same thing, like all this stuff can be happening without me knowing. I know I'm already 3 cm dilated and 100% effaced and I certainly didn't notice that happening.
My hospital is just a 10 min drive away, so hopefully everything will turn out all right, even if I will only notice what's happening a little late in the game.

It is only natural to be anxious when you think about going to the hospital. Sometimes it is hard to determine what true labor is from braxton hicks. On my site I have information about both topics (baby-n-momma.com/truelabor.php). This is an informational site only! If you are concerned at all about anything with your pregnancy then contact your healthcare provider!!!

I'm worried about the same thing, my mom said that her water never broke with any of her four kids, so I am not going to know what to expect!

I cannot wait to give birth, I just hope that because big babies run in my family and I am small figured that I wont have to have a c section because I want to hold my baby and love on him in his first few momments out of the womb!!
I am just nervous I wont know when I am going into labor, and then the hospital is 1 to 1.5 hours away!!!!! so I will probably end up going earlier anyways.. as long as I get there in enough time to get the drugs!!
