Baby Engaged - How long before you went into labour?

Okay... here's the almighty question for those who have recently had their little bundles of joy...

Once you were informed that the baby's head was engaged, how soon after did your labour begin? I was told on Saturday that my cervix was starting to soften and today was informed that baby's head was well engaged. I was also told by several people that I have dropped and I would definitely be early (Due May 16th). So just curious...

I was told on Wednesday 8th that the baby was fully engaged and I was 50% effaced. Consultant told me the baby would almost definitely be within 48 hours, and sent me home with a leaflet about early labour.

Nothing happened, ended up being induced on the following Wednesday due to pre-eclampsia.

Don't know how long it would have taken 'naturally', probably quite a while!
